In a nutshell, for the most part, I am:-

An IT SysAdmin Geek:
I’ve been working within IT since I left school, waaaaay back in 1985. Which is far too long if you ask me. Since that time, I’ve been the helpdesk guy, the server admin guy, the email admin guy, the IT consultant guy and the project management guy. I’m back to being the email/server admin guy at the moment, and I rather like it.

An habitual nerd:
Music, musical intruments (especially electric guitars), movies, books, pop culture.

You name it, I’m all over it!

An aging rock guitar god:
Well, sort of … I played guitar in a proper rock band (not the Nintendo Wii version) for a few years. I didn’t make a living from it, but it was a lot of fun at the time.  Still banging out the odd tune on the guitar these days, mostly just for kicks and the sheer enjoyment of the instrument.

A budding amateur photographer:
Emphasis on amateur. I mean, just look at my Flickr photostream for evidence of this …

An obsessed FPS gamer:
Personally, I blame ID software for this obsession. It’s their fault for releasing titles such as:-

Wolfenstein 3D
Doom I, II & III (Doom III scared the utter cr@p out of me)
Quake I-IV
Return To Castle Wolfenstein

These days, I feed my obsession by sucking very badly at the Call of Duty & Battlefield series of games.
